Jan 23-25: Grand Rapids Area- Reunion at Goodwillie Environmental School

What has already proven to be a joyful experience did not start out that way. January 23rd was a scrambled scurry to get out the door. It was the “storm before the light” as our friend Deb put it. Everything that could’ve gone wrong went wrong, but we made it through with a positive attitude, good tunes, and a certainty that it would all work out in the end.

The following days were far beyond our expectations! My dad was finally back in his element in one of his favorite places, Goodwillie Environmental School! The entire school is lined from wall to wall with murals he created with students throughout the 25 years he has worked there. He is a legend there.

With two full days of school programs and a Woody drawing night program with over 300 people attending, this was epic.

He was reunited with dear friends and mentors, a faculty like family, and student alumni whom have gone onto careers in art that came back to say hi.

After the program, attendees were lined up out the door for the opportunity to show off their art and reconnect with my dad.

This trip, despite all odds, is already one of the greatest adventures of all time. I get to see my dad back in action doing what he loves most and to have such a turn out made it all the more fulfilling. Thank you guys for joining us along this journey. This is just the first stop of many to come!

Thank you to the wonderful staff, students, and families of Goodwillie Environmental School for their support and for making this event possible! Follow the Art!

We’re off to Bloomington now!
